NAUGATUCK — Ann-Marie (Egeland) Britton, 60, of Naugatuck, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Thomas P. Britton.

Mrs. Britton was born in Manhattan, N.Y. on June 29, 1954 a daughter of Louis and Bertha Egeland. She most recently worked as a private duty caregiver and had also previously worked at Pomperaug Woods and as an engineering document control handler at DRS (formerly Eaton). She was an avid bowler having traveled many times to National tournaments and enjoyed making chocolates.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Britton is survived by two daughters, Kristy Barbuto and her husband, Christopher, of Naugatuck and Jennifer Barboza of Bethel; two brothers, Edward Egeland of Cheshire and Robert Egeland of Naugatuck and two grandchildren, Isabella and Gabriel Barboza. She was predeceased by a son, Robert “R.J.” Cyr, and brothers, Louis Egeland, Jr. and Alan Egeland.

Mrs. Britton’s family would like to thank Idalina Fonseca for her loving care of Ann over the past five years.

Private funeral services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. The Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect is in charge of arrangements.
