NAUGATUCK — The Whittemore Library is featuring the artwork of David Merrill throughout October.

Merrill’s paintings feature “the woods, meadows, brooks, stone walls, barns and historic homesteads revealing a certain serenity about things made old by time and the elements,” according to a press release.

Merrill, of Southbury, studied at the Famous Artist School in Westport and at Western Connecticut State University. His works are held in notable collections, and he has completed numerous commissions, the release states.

This month’s exhibit of original framed artwork including lithographs can be viewed on the Whittemore Gallery Wall during regular library hours. The library is located at 243 Church St. For more information, call (203) 729-4591.
