NAUGATUCK — Mrs. Sandra J. “Sandy” (Clumb) Greensway, 67, of Naugatuck, passed away unexpectedly early Sunday morning Oct. 12, 2014 at her home. She was the wife of William L. Greensway, Jr.

Mrs. Greensway was born in Milford, Dec. 6, 1946, a daughter of the late Royce and Mary (Haleburt) Clumb. She was a graduate of Jonathan Law High School in Milford and had been a Naugatuck resident since moving here from Milford in 1972. She retired from the Golden Hill Health Care Center in Milford in 2008 after 32 years of service working in patient care. She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church and loved animals especially cats. She was very interested in Civil War history and the Lincoln era and enjoyed collecting dolls and anything Amish.

Besides her husband of 54 years, she leaves her children, William L. Greensway, III and his wife, Penny, of Naugatuck, David J. Greensway and his companion, Sharon Perugini, of Torrington, Judy L Appleton and her husband, Dale, of Sarasota, Fla., and Janet L. O’Donnell of Naugatuck; one sister, Laurie Cooper and her husband, James, of Milford and seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son-in-law, Edward P. O’Donnell, on May 2, 2014

Her funeral will be held on Friday, Oct. 17, 2014, at 11 a.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church St. Friends are asked to meet directly at the church prior to Mass. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St., is assisting the family with the arrangements.
