REGION 16 — The Board of Education has appointed Matthew Brennan as Region 16’s new director of technology.

Superintendent of Schools Tim James announced the hire in a letter last week.
Brennan will start Aug. 26. He is currently technology coordinator for Litchfield public schools.

Brennan was the unanimous choice of the selection team and school board, which oversees schools in Beacon Falls and Prospect, James wrote.

“He possesses and demonstrates strong collaborative skills. He regularly works with administrators to translate their vision for technology into an actionable budget. He has developed a hardware replacement and purchasing timeline to lay out a multi-year purchasing plan in collaboration with all district stakeholders,” James wrote.

Brennan will replace Bruce Bartmess, who has officially retired but stayed on the job during the search for his successor. Bartmess will work with Brennan for about two weeks to assure there is a seamless transition, James wrote.
