NAUGATUCK — Mrs. Anne Marie (Walsh) Mannion, 94, formerly of Ash Road, Naugatuck, Conn., died at the home of her daughter in Marion, N.C. on her birthday. Anne was preceded in death by her husband, Earl J. Mannion, who was also of Naugatuck.

Mrs. Mannion was born on Aug. 11, 1920 in Waterbury, Conn., a daughter of the late Patrick and Winifred (Moyles) Walsh. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Waterbury and St. Agnes Training School for Nurses, in Hartford.

She worked as a billing clerk at the Chemical Division of Uniroyal Inc. in Naugatuck, from where she retired; and she was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church.

Mrs. Mannion is survived by daughters Karen Nelson of New York City, Joan Messner of Marion, N.C., Mary Thibert of Apex, N.C. and Kathy Mannion of Denver, Colo.; and her son, Robert Earl Mannion of Onsted, Mich.

Mrs. Mannion was predeceased by her three sisters, Christine Widman of Cheshire, Conn., Patricia Schumacher of Waterbury, Conn. and Dorothy Marino of Naugatuck, Conn.

Mrs. Mannion cherished her six grandchildren, Matt Messner, Jill (Mannion) Rupley, Michael Thibert, Kimmy (Thibert) Carpenter, Craig Messner and Bobby Mannion; two great-grandchildren, Grayson Rupley and Oliver Mannion; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held Monday, Aug. 18, 2014 at 8:15 a.m. from the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., to St. Francis of Assisi Church, 338 Church St., where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery.
