PROSPECT — Tillie S. Wilmot of Prospect died of natural causes on July 22, 2014. She was 90.

Born 1924 in Munich, Germany to Augusta Erhard Schwarz and Dr. William Schwarz, she was the wife of the late Albert Wilmot, sister of the late Margaret Wetherell and Claire Allen, beloved mother of Paula Wilmot Wright, and grandmother of Becki Wright and Timothy Wright, Jr.

She grew up in Whitensville, Mass., later moving to Toronto, Canada in 1940, graduating from Northern Vocational School in 1942. She married Albert in 1944 and moved to Westville, living there from 1944-50. She worked at New Haven Pulp and Board for a time.

After moving to Prospect in 1950, she worked as an executive secretary at US Rubber Company in Naugatuck for several years. She was later secretary to Prospect First Selectman. She was as Republican registrar of voters for many years, and then election moderator for several more. Tillie served as president of the Prospect Women’s Club and the Prospect Seniors. She volunteered weekly at a number of convalescent homes and was a long-time member of the Prospect Senior Center Songbirds.

A memorial service for family and friends will be held at the Berean Baptist Church, 965 Litchfield Road, Watertown, Saturday, Aug. 9 at 10 a.m.
