Obituary: Raymond John Arnold

PROSPECT — Mr. Raymond John Arnold, 88, of Morris, N.Y., formerly of Naugatuck, passed away peacefully on Monday July 21, 2014 at the home of his daughter in law Kathy Arnold in Prospect. He was the husband of the late Edith (Emmons) Arnold.

Mr. Arnold was born in Waterbury on June 13, 1926 son of the late Mary Arnold. He was retired as foreman from the Connecticut Water Company in Naugatuck. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and a dear friend to many who enjoyed the outdoors, farming, hunting and field trials.

He was a United States Navy veteran having proudly served as a member of the Seabees during World War II.

Mr. Arnold is survived by a daughter, Edith McFarlin and her husband Dennis of Naugatuck; three grandchildren, Daniel McFarlin and his wife Cathy of Naugatuck, Dean McFarlin and his wife Sara of Waterbury and Denise Savoy and her husband Dennis of Torrington and four great grandchildren, Aidan, Brendan, Dane and Danielle McFarlin. He was predeceased by a daughter, Jean Edith Chapman and a son, Raymond John Arnold, Jr.

Raymond’s family would like to thank Nora Frederick for helping with his care.

Private funeral services with full military honors and burial in Hillington Cemetery in Morris, N.Y. will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. The Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect is in charge of arrangements.
