PROSPECT — Mrs. Josephine (Longo) Santos, 81, of Prospect, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at Danbury Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of Lemuel A. “Sammy” Santos.
Mrs. Santos was born in Pontelandolfo, Italy on Feb. 12, 1933 a daughter of the late Saverio and Maria (Longo) Longo. She was retired from Peter Paul Cadbury in Naugatuck where she had worked as a line worker for many years and was a communicant of St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church in Prospect. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, canning and spending time in Rhode Island but cherished most of all the time that she shared with her family.
Mrs. Santos is survived by three sons, Lou Santos and his wife Debbie of Terryville, Tom Santos and his wife Cathy of Wolcott and Robert Santos and his wife Rayma of Prospect; two sisters, Mimi Guerrera of Prospect and Margie Massaro of Waterbury; three grandchildren, Nicole Guerrera, Aimee Sarmiento and Karli Santos, a great-granddaughter, Sophia Ann Guerrera and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held on Friday, July 18, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. from Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect to St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church, 4 Union City Road, Prospect for a mass at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
