Club holding wine-making contest

BEACON FALLS — The Beacon Falls Rotary Club is inviting home wine makers to participate in “The Best Grapes in the Valley” contest.

The wine competition is open to local home winemakers. Along with the competition, a wine tasting and awards night will be held in September as part of the event.

Wine makers can enter as many wines as they want. An entry is defined as two 750 milliliter bottles. One bottle will be used for the final judging should that wine reach that level of the competition.

The entry fee is $10 per wine type entered. Registration forms and wine must be received together. The registration deadline is July 26. Checks should be made payable to: Beacon Falls Rotary Club and mail c/o M. Krenesky, 22 Maple Ave., Beacon Falls, CT 06403. Wines can be mailed or brought to Maltose Express, 246 Main St., Monroe, CT 06468.
