Plans change for traffic pattern

PROSPECT — The traffic light at the intersection of Route 68 and Route 69 in Prospect has undergone a change, Prospect Mayor Robert Chatfield said.

The light was recently replaced by the state’s Department of transportation. The old lights would start to flashing either yellow or red at 10 p.m., Chatfield said. The new stop lights will not flash, but rather work as a stop light 24 hours a day, he said.

An article in the Citizen’s News earlier this month reported Chatfield had been told that the lights would blink after a set time. However, the DOT has since changed the pattern of the lights and that will not longer be the case.

Chatfield said if the lights ever do go to blinking for any reason all directions will blink red.
