NAUGATUCK — Mr. Edward Patrick O’Donnell, Jr., 47, of Naugatuck, passed away late Friday morning, May 2, 2014 from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. He was the husband of Janet (Greensway) O’Donnell.

Mr. O’Donnell was born in Waterbury, Nov. 17, 1966, a son of Edward P. O’Donnell, Sr. and Diane (Serendi) (O’Donnell) Ward and was educated in the Naugatuck school system and was an ASE certified technician. He was a master transmission technician, having formerly worked for AMMCO Transmissions in East Hartford until they closed and has been with Levine Transmissions in New Haven for the past year. He enjoyed fishing, working on cars and was a NASCAR fan.

Besides his wife of 21 years, Janet; his father and his wife Sandra of Waterbury and his mother Diane, and her husband Donald of Charleston, S.C., he leaves two daughters, Tanya Lee O’Donnell of Waterbury and Ashley Lynn Spak and her husband Paul, of Plainville; three sisters, Melissa O’Donnell and Jennifer O’Donnell both of Waterbury, and Michele Lance and her husband William of Waterbury; two grandchildren, Samantha Spak and Noah Sampson and many nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 10:15 a.m. from the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St., and proceed to St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church St., for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, May 9, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m. Friends are asked to omit Flowers.
