PROSPECT — Michael Voytek of Milford will be the second artist to exhibit at the Prospect Library through its Art at the Library program.

The exhibit will run throughout May at the library, 17 Center St.

Voytek, 74, is a self-taught painter who started painting at the age of 59 when he retired. According to a news release, Voytek’s artistic expression is described as illuminaire-one who adorns with brilliant color. His style is representative of New England Americana art in how he tells a story through his folklore images of barns, boats, farms and water.

“I prefer realistic painting and seeing the surprise of what brush strokes and colors will produce on canvas. I use paints right out of the tube,” Voytek said in the release.
