NAUGATUCK — An electrical glitch on a power line off of Cherry Street Extension in Naugatuck Wednesday morning caused several fire alarms to go off. One of those was at City Hill Middle School.

The school evacuated when the alarm went off at 8:30 a.m. Firefighters thoroughly inspected the school and determined it was safe for students to go back inside, Fire Capt. Jim Trzaski said.

Firefighters quickly learned a glitch in a power wire caused a very brief interruption of service, triggering the alarms, he said.
