NAUGATUCK — The Ion Bank Foundation has partnered with the New Britain Museum of American Art to help provide access to arts for students.

“We are pleased to partner with the New Britain Museum of American Art to support their Access to Arts program. The students in Meriden, Naugatuck and Waterbury schools will greatly benefit from learning through art,” said Ion Bank President and CEO Charles Boulier III in a press release.

The program targets schools with great academic need and strives to increase art exposure and improve academic performance. It brings children to the museum for a guided tour and hands-on activities relating to the art exhibitions on view. Following the tour, the museum provides teachers and students with workshops, classroom activities, and images of works from the permanent collection and special exhibitions to continue their learning back at their respective schools.

With support from Ion Bank Foundation, the museum will be able to expand the program, according to the release.
