Survey available for residents, business owners to offer opinions

BEACON FALLS — The town is currently updating its hazard mitigation plan and seeking input from residents.

The plan is being updated to identify activities that can be undertaken before natural hazards occur in order to minimize property damage, risk of life and the costs of such events. The plan will discuss the occurrence and consequences of floods, winter storms, tornadoes, hurricanes and tropical storms, wildfires, earthquakes and dam failure.  The plan will also outline the steps that Beacon Falls can take to mitigate for future natural hazards.

As part of the process, the town has developed an online survey. Residents and business owners are invited to take the survey and offer ideas. The survey is available at www.surveymonkey.com/s/BeaconFalls.
