GLENDALE, Ariz. — Mr. Ronald A. Seeley, 71, of Glendale, Ariz., and a former resident of Naugatuck, passed away on Feb. 13, 2014, after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

He was born Feb. 14, 1942 in Danbury, son of the late Rolland E and Myrtle (Jones) Seeley. He was a graduate of Naugatuck High School.

Ron proudly served his country as a tank driver in the Army, with his cousin and friend Ken Bontempo. He moved to Arizona in 1967 where he worked for Pitney Bowes for more than 30 years. He had a passion for guns and military history. His gentler side was evident in his love for growing roses for which he received many awards.

He is survived by his wife Evelyn (Kizziar) Seeley of Glendale, Ariz.; his children Dan Seeley, Rhonda (Greg) Frankel, Beverly Seeley Auerbach, and two granddaughters, Brehanna and Courtney Auerbach, all of Glendale, Ariz. He also leaves a sister, Barbara (John) Lewis of Naugatuck; a niece, Melissa (John) Teator and a nephew, Sean Lewis of Naugatuck and their children along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.

In accordance with Ron’s wishes, a memorial service with military honors was held at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, Phoenix. A memorial service for Ron will be held in Naugatuck later this year.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014. (www.hov.org)
