NAUGATUCK — The Board of Education is hoping the winter weather will not force it to make any more decisions.

The school board decided to leave the school calendar as is last week, rather than eat into April vacation. Due to snow days, the last of school in Naugatuck, as of this post, is June 24. Any more cancellations in Naugatuck will lead to the calendar being extended up to and including June 30, which left the district with four more days at its disposal.

No decision has officially been made regarding what will happen if the district has more than four more days canceled. Interim Superintendent of Schools James Connelly recommended last week the board take away days from April vacation, starting with Monday, if the calendars goes past the end of June.

Legally the school year can only go to June 30.
