PROSPECT — An accident between a tractor-trailer and a Honda CR-V on Route 68 at the intersection of Matthew Street sent two adults and two children to Saint Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury early Tuesday morning, state police said.

Roque Gautier, 42, of Meriden, driving a 2009 Freightliner owned by Thyssen Krupp Logistics, Inc. of Ohio, and the driver of a 2008 Honda CR-V, Kelly Miller, 35, and her two passengers, Gavin and Bryce Miller, both age 2 and all of 16 Dogwood Drive, all sustained minor injuries, state police said.

All four were treated and released from the hospital, a hospital spokeswoman said.

State police said at 7:30 a.m., Gautier was driving the tractor-trailer west on Route 68, while Kelly Miller, who was driving north on Talmadge Hill Road, was approaching the intersection of Matthew Street. Miller failed to stop at the stop sign and turned left into the path of the tractor-trailer, state police said.
The tractor-trailer came to rest next to a utility pole after it struck a guy-wire securing the pole, state police said.

The Freightliner sustained moderate front-end damage, while the Honda was totaled, state police said.

State police said the intersection was closed for two hours while the Freightliner was removed from the scene and the pole secured.
