CNLogo1WATERBURY — Literacy Volunteers of Greater Waterbury is now accepting registrations for its fall session of volunteer orientations.

LVGW trains and supports volunteers who teach adults to read, write, speak, and understand English. No prior teaching experience is necessary. But volunteers must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent, possess excellent oral and written English skills, and demonstrate the potential to tutor adult learners. The fall tutor training program begins the week of Sept. 22.

An orientation session will be held Tuesday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Whittemore Memorial Library, 243 Church St., Naugatuck. Individuals who are interested in learning more about volunteer opportunities in adult literacy are encouraged to attend.

For more information or to register for the session, call Vanessa Vowe at (203) 754-1164 or email Lvgw-programs@waterburyct.org.
