WSO holding finale concert

WATERBURY — The Waterbury Symphony Orchestra will present its 75th anniversary season finale concert: Mahler’s “Titan” May 11 at 8 p.m. at the Naugatuck Valley Community College Fine Arts Center.

Quassy holding roller coaster, amusement ride model contest

MIDDLEBURY — Quassy Amusement Park is holding a roller coaster and amusement ride model contest.

The amusement ride model category charges students with building replicas of rides operating at the park. Models may be operational or static. Divisions are set up for elementary, middle and high school grades.

Preregistration is required with entry forms available on the “Press Room” page at www.quassy.com.

For the annual roller coaster model contest, students must create working examples of coasters which are judged in a number of categories. Divisions are established for all grade levels with preregistration required. Complete roller coaster model contest rules and a separate registration form are available on the “Press Room” page at www.quassy.com.

The contest will be held June 15 at the amusement park.

Suburban Garden Club holding plant sale

CHESHIRE — The Suburban Garden Club of Cheshire will be holding its annual plant sale May 11 at the Congregational Church Green in Cheshire from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The sale will include a wide variety of member grown perennials, vegetable plants and annuals. This is the Suburban Garden Club of Cheshire’s primary fundraiser that helps to support the club’s charitable and civic activities throughout the year.

Foster organizations seeks donations of Legos

WATERBURY — Foster Adoptive Mission is seeking donations of Legos for a monthly-get-together the organization is planning to start this summer for foster families and their children.

The organization will be collecting new or gently used, clean Legos at the Waterbury Department of Children and Families office, 396 West Main St., ask for Jackie Vidal. For more information, call (203) 706-0101.

Piedmont Players present ‘Noises Off’

WATERBURY — The Piedmont Players will present “Noises Off” by Michael Frayn May 17 and 18 at 6:30 p.m. and May 19 at 4:30 p.m. at South Congregational Church, 160 Piedmont St.
