NAUGATUCK — A 24-year-old man was hospitalized early Wednesday morning after he was found lying on the ground at the multi-family house at 8 Pond St. with serious injuries.

Naugatuck police spokesman Lt. Bryan Cammarata said police were called to the house at 2:27 a.m. The man, who did not live in the building, was found lying on the ground next to the residence with serious head and body injuries, he said. It appears the man fell from the fourth floor of the four-story building, he said. The victim was transported to the hospital and was being treated for life threatening injuries.

Naugatuck police and officers from the Connecticut State Police Major Crime unit are investigating the incident.

Cammarata said police are investigating whether foul play led to the incident.

“We are certainly looking into that,” he said.

No further details about the victim or the incident were released as of 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
