WATERBURY — Saint Mary’s Hospital and UnitedHealthcare have reached a new agreement.

The agreement, which gives UnitedHealthcare plan participants continued access to all Saint Mary’s Hospital services and Franklin Medical Group physicians, was announced by the hospital in a press release. As a result of the agreement, the hospital will continue its participation with the UnitedHealthcare and Oxford care provider networks. The new agreement applies to all employer-sponsored, individual, Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement health plans, the release said.

“This new agreement is good for everyone, particularly for our patients, and improves the overall health of the community we serve,” said Chad Wable, FACHE, president and chief executive officer of Saint Mary’s Health System, in a statement. “Our renewed relationship with UnitedHealthcare will enable us to continue to offer high-quality services to all UnitedHealthcare and Oxford plan participants as we have in the past at in-network benefit levels.”

“Saint Mary’s Hospital is an important, quality provider of health care services. Our network relationship gives UnitedHealthcare plan participants in Connecticut greater choice and access to quality medical facilities as well as skilled physicians close to where they live and work,” said Stephen J. Farrell, president and CEO, UnitedHealthcare Employer and Individual of New England, in a statement.
