PROSPECT — A tanker truck driver was hospitalized Monday after getting doused with gasoline while filling a storage tank at All-Star Transportation on Grammar Avenue, according to police.

Richard Fry, driving an East River Energy truck operated by Soundview Transportation of Guilford, was filling the tank at about 8:50 a.m. when the hose ruptured at the nozzle, spraying him with gasoline and spilling about 60 gallons of gasoline on the ground, police said.

Fry was taken to Saint Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury for evaluation, police said.

Firefighters sprayed foam over the spill and finished cleaning up at about 3:45 p.m., police said.
