PROSPECT — The town will participate in a statewide drill simulating a Category 3 hurricane on Monday and Tuesday.
The drill, which begins in other towns on Saturday, is being conducted to test communities’ preparedness for disasters and similar emergency scenarios.
Mayor Robert Chatfield said the town will be using its CodeRED emergency alert telephone notification system on Friday to alert residents about the drill and again on Monday to test phone lines.
Residents who are not currently registered with CodeRED are encouraged to sign up on the town’s website at www.townofprospect.org.
