The Council of Governments of the Central Naugatuck Valley has prepared a draft update of its Public Participation Plan.

The plan outlines the importance of, and establishes specific guidelines for, involving community members, organizations, governments, transportation professionals, and other groups in COGCNV’s transportation planning process. The plan, originally created in 1997, has been updated to reflect new communication technologies and to discuss how COGCNV will seek comments from all interested residents and groups.

COGCNV is responsible for regional transportation planning for 13 municipalities in the Central Naugatuck Valley region including Beacon Falls, Naugatuck, and Prospect.

Two public meetings will be held for those interested in learning more about the plan. The first will be held at the COGCNV office, 60 North Main St., Waterbury, on April 26 at 5 p.m. The second meeting will also be held at the office on May 1 at 7 p.m. Written comments will be accepted until May 31. Written comments can be sent to COGCNV, 60 North Main St., 3rd Floor, Waterbury, CT 06702 or e-mailed to comments@cogcnv.org.

The plan is available to view online at www.cogcnv.org or in municipal town clerks offices.
