BEACON FALLS — A standoff at a home on Church Street ended peacefully Monday morning after a man police thought was holed up with a shotgun turned out to be passed out drunk.

The man, awakened by a state police robot, threw the robot out the door then was shot by a trooper’s beanbag gun and taken into custody.

The man was taken into custody and placed in an ambulance.
