HARTFORD — State Rep. Len Greene (R-105) is teaming up with the Department of Economic and Community Development to host a small business workshop on new programs put in place to help Connecticut businesses.

“This forum will be a good resource for the small businesses in the 105th district and the Naugatuck Valley,” Greene said in a prepared release.  “I look forward to sharing important information on the programs and benefits, like manufacturing credits, loans, job creation incentives and business grants that are included in the jobs package. These incentives will go a long way toward helping businesses across the valley and our region.”

During the October special session, the state legislature approved a jobs package that includes a host of program intended to spur business growth, including a revolving loan fund to provides loans ranging from $10,000 to $100,000 to small businesses and the STEP Program, which assists small businesses and small manufacturers to pay a portion of an eligible employee’s wages during the first six months of employment.

The workshop will be held Feb. 1 at the Seymour Town Hall, 1 First St., Seymour from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
