NAUGATUCK—The Naugatuck Arts Commission is collecting photos and other scannable memorabilia from veterans to be used in a slideshow during the commission’s annual Veterans Concert.
The concert, which is scheduled for May 27 at 7 p.m. in the City Hill Middle School auditorium, in an annual event held to commemorate Memorial Day.
For the first in the concert’s history, the event will also include a slideshow presentation featuring pictures of veterans and other memorabilia, such as letters. The purpose of the slideshow is to include more veterans in the event, raise awareness about those who served or are serving currently in the armed forces and to be a permanent reminder of these veterans for the community.
Commission member Marianna Hanley is putting together the presentation. She will be collecting photos and other memorabilia through the end of this month to use for the slideshow.
