Armed robbery reported on Aetna Street

A young Naugatuck couple was robbed at gun point in their Aetna Street home, police said.

At about 7:40 p.m. Sunday, police responded to 58 Aetna St. for a reported robbery, police said. The victims, a man and woman in their early 20s, told police that two suspects entered their home with a handgun displayed.

The suspects forced the victims onto the floor, while they rummaged through the apartment, police said. The suspects left with a small amount of cash and other miscellaneous items, police said.

At the time of the robbery, police said, the couple’s twin 5-year-old boys were sleeping in their bedrooms.

No injuries were reported, and police were unsure whether the suspects fled the scene on foot or by car.

Police released a description of the suspects.

One suspect was described as a black male, 6 foot 2 inches tall, with a thin build, “corn rows” in his brown hair, brown eyes, no facial hair, and wearing a dark colored jersey and dark jeans.

The other suspect was described as a black male, 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a heavy build, brown eyes, a goatee, wearing a brownish-yellow colored hooded sweatshirt and dark jeans.
