Throughout the year, scouts work very hard to earn merit badges, which are required for rank advancement. Many fun and interesting events offer the opportunity for scouts to fulfill requirements such as Camp Sikorsky, the Mad River District Camporee, popcorn and poinsettia sales, campouts, ski trips and whitewater rafting trips.

Not only do Boy Scouts work on their own merit badges, but they help mentor the Cub Scouts of Pack 27, as well.

The Webelos dens of Pack 27 were invited by the troop to their swim night at Woodland Regional High School on Feb. 17. Webelo Scouts spend a lot of time working on earning Activity Badges. Boys who were interested in earning the Aquanaut Badge, which falls under the physical skills group, met with some of the troop’s members and completed the necessary requirements at the high school pool.
