The Naugatuck, Middlebury, and Watertown police departments are teaming up to conduct seat belt and child safety seat checkpoints as part of the statewide Click it or Ticket campaign.

Today officers will be in Middlebury at Kelly Road and Memorial Road, Route 63 near the I-84 exit 17 off ramp, and Glenwood Avenue and Route 64.

Thursday officers will be in Watertown at Colonial Avenue and Route 64.

On Friday, officers will be in Naugatuck at Meadow Street and Millville Avenue.

The 2011 Click It or Ticket campaign aims to heighten awareness that seat belts save lives, according to a release. The goal of the Click It or Ticket mobilization is not to give out tickets, but rather to influence people to buckle up and prevent injuries and fatalities, the release said.
