WOODBURY- Mr. Oscar LeRoy “Ozzie” Bartlett, Sr., 74, of Woodbury, passed away Sunday Jan. 30, at Hartford Hospital. He was the husband of Eleanor “Pinky” (Morey) Bartlett

Ozzie was born on Dec. 25, 1936, in Millinocket, Maine a son of the late Wellington and Hettie (Dickerson) Bartlett and moved to Connecticut many years ago. He was a former member of the Connecticut National Guard and had worked at Mack Truck for 17 years, Wesson Oil for 17 years and Environmental Waste Resource for 9 years prior to his retirement.

He was an Oakville-Watertown Drum Corps parent, a co-founder of the Westbury Drum Corps of Oakville, serving many positions as mechanic, bus driver, and marching instructor. He also served as a mechanic and bus driver for St. Peter’s Drum Corps of Torrington for several years. In the last several years, he was an all around maintenance worker for Spruce Bank Farm in Woodbury, where he made his home.

Besides his wife of 52 years, he leaves his children, Vicky Angelicola of Woodbury, Dennis Bartlett of Middlebury and Oscar, Jr. and his wife Brenda of Watertown ; five grandchildren, Scott Bartlett, Gordon Dains, Tami McGuire, Jessica Bartlett and Joshua Bartlett, three great-grandchildren, Austin and Kayla Bartlett and Molly Dains; two brothers, Donald of Fla., and Robert of N.H.; three sisters, Marilyn Emmons of Fla., Irma O’Neil of Maine, and Christine Lessard of S.C. and several nieces and nephews

Funeral services will be held on Friday Feb. 4, at 7 p.m. at the Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
