Naugatuck student earns scholarship

WATERBURY — November 03, 2010 – Twenty-three area students entering or continuing an education at Naugatuck Valley Community College this fall received scholarships totaling $21,000 from the Community College Scholarship Program offered by the Connecticut Community Foundation in Waterbury.

Recipients are current high school graduates and adults returning to school. Students are pursuing studies in liberal arts, nursing, physical therapy, criminal justice, business management, digital arts technology, and education.

Kaitlin Jeannin is the recipient from Naugatuck.

The region’s largest scholarship provider, The Connecticut Community Foundation started the Community College Scholarship Program in 2009 to better meet the needs of area students seeking scholarships. Major funding to establish the Community College Scholarship Program was generously donated by Timex Group USA, Inc. in Middlebury, an anonymous donor, and other individual and corporate donors.
