Members of the Naugatuck Garden Club have contributed their time, talent and creativity to the Osborne Homestead Museum as it has been transformed into a holiday showcase. The Osborne Museum which is in the town of Derby is owned by the State of Connecticut and was originally owned by the Osborne/Kellogg family. For several weeks each winter the Osborne Museum opens its doors for the holiday season to the public view it as it has been beautifully decorated by participating garden clubs.

This year the Naugatuck Garden Club decorated the library and the lower front hall of the homestead. In keeping with the museum’s overall theme of Holiday Traditions, the Naugatuck Garden Club chose “story telling” to reflect the tradition of the Osborne/Kellogg family.

Meeting every two weeks since August, members of the Naugatuck Garden Club have created and decorated a truly beautiful traditional holiday setting and encourage the public to visit the museum to view the beautiful work it has accomplished in this historic homestead.

The Osborne Homestead Museum is located at 500 Hawthorn Avenue, Derby. It will be open for the holidays Nov. 26 through Dec. 19, Thursday-Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with the twilight tours offered Dec. 3, 19, and 17, 4-6:30 p.m. Donations are gratefully accepted for museum tours.
