Hawks venture out of NVL, beat Hand

BEACON FALLS — The Hawks got another dominant post performance by Heather Framski, their defense held Daniel Hand to single digits in two of four quarters, and Woodland (5-0, 4-0) won its lone non-league game of the regular season, 52-48, Thursday.

Hand center Ali Birnbaum appeared over-matched against Framski, whose go-to move—a right-handed turn-and-shoot in the paint—was on magnificent display, helping the junior to a game-high 26 points.

The Black and Gold bolted to an 11-2 lead in the first four minutes, an advantage that would have been even more pronounced had the team shot better than two-for-six at the free throw line. Lindsay Feducia opened the scoring with a three-pointer on Woodland’s first possession before the hosts began funneling the ball inside.

Framski’s post partner, Katie Alfiere, chipped in 10 points; Feducia and Jen Fredericks added eight apiece.
