Concentric Tool and Manufacturing Co., Inc. President Klaus D. Babiarz, left, and Jeff Cyr, office manager, recently received the Waterbury Regional Chamber’s 2014 Harold Webster Smith Manufacturer of the Year Award during a breakfast event in Waterbury. Concentric Tool, which also has a location at 360 Prospect St. in Naugatuck, was founded in 1972 by Klaus J. Babiarz, and continues to be family-owned. ‘My father founded this company as a small, one-man operation. He created this business on the premise that customer satisfaction is our number one priority and today this company employs 17 dedicated people who share in my father’s ambition and passion for precision and success,’ Klaus D. Babiarz said in a press release. Concentric Tool specializes in manufacturing machined components that are used nationwide in the aerospace, medical, commercial hardware, electronics, defense/military and private industry arenas. Throughout the Greater Waterbury region Concentric works with schools and colleges by teaching students and hiring future skilled workers. In 2013 Concentric donated labor and resources to restore and rebuild the Holy Land cross located on a prominent hilltop overlooking Waterbury region. –CONTRIBUTED
