Children from the Naugatuck Head Start and School Readiness programs recently collected aluminum can tabs for the Shriners Hospital for Children in Springfield, Mass. The hospital provides care to children with neuromusculoskeletal conditions, burn injuries, and other special healthcare needs. The money raised is used to purchase items for patient care. Boy Scouts from Prospect Troop 258 spent the morning June 23 in the treetops at Catamount Aerial Adventure Park in Hillsdale, N.Y. The park offers over 170 platforms situated in the trees, each connected by rope, cable, wood and zip lines to form bridges. After Catamount, the scouts spent the rest of the day at Taconic State Park, which is situated in Copake Falls, N.Y. The scouts rounded out the day with a campfire, skits and songs, and a hike to Bash Bish Falls. -CONTRIBUTED
