Pinto will be responsible for managing, servicing and growing the agency’s individual and business health insurance customer base. –CONTRIBUTED Laura Kunces, right, a Naugatuck native and doctoral candidate at the University of Connecticut, was recently awarded the EAS Academy graduate scholarship award by the Collegiate & Professional Sports Dietitians Association. The award was one of eight national awards given to recognize special achievement and contributions to advanced-practice sports nutrition. Currently serving as social chairman for fellow graduate students at the Neag Graduate School of Education at UConn, Kunces serves as advisor to dietetic interns and consultant to all lab groups and research studies in the department of kinesiology. A varsity swimmer while earning her bachelor of science degree in nutritional sciences at UConn, Kunces earned an MS in clinical nutrition from the University of Memphis and an MS in exercise science from UConn.
