Donald Stabile of Naugatuck, not pictured, and Thomasine Connelly, pictured on the right, of Prospect were honored by Saint Mary’s Hospital at its Annual Volunteer Recognition Reception April 25 for 1,000 hours of service as volunteers. The event celebrated the continued dedication and commitment of Saint Mary’s 115 active volunteers, who together contributed 19,000 hours of volunteer service this past year. More than 80 volunteers, managers and administrators attended the event, which was held in celebration of National Volunteer Week. –CONTRIBUTED

The CPA firm Mahoney Sabol & Company announced the addition of Samantha Thomas to its public sector group team of audit professionals. Thomas, a resident of Naugatuck, holds a bachelor of science in accounting from Central Connecticut State University and is a 2013 master of science degree candidate in New England College’s accounting program. Thomas is being considered for membership in the national and Connecticut Government Finance Officers Associations, the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. –CONTRIBUTED
