Each year students sell lemonade in the parking lot next to Beacon Hose Company No. 1 to raise money for different causes. This year 28 students helped sell lemonade and raised $400. The Naugatuck travel baseball 14U team won the CABC Sandy Koufax State Tournament with a 4-2 win over Tribury in the championship game July 9 in Waterbury. The team advanced to the advanced to the AABC Northeast Regionals. Naugatuck went undefeated in the state tournament beating Watertown and Tribury in a doubleheader on July 8, before facing Tribury again in the title game. The Camille B. Perugini Charitable Trust awarded $10,500 in scholarships to local students June 20 at Jesse Camille’s Restaurant in Naugatuck. Naugatuck High School students Theresa Montoni, Meghan Lauer, Amber Luis and Jenna Massicotte; Wolcott High School students Alexander Tapley, Jenessa Teta, Madison Greenstein and Jorgija Cironaku; Woodland Regional High School students Zachary Crowell, Brian Sardinskas and Mary Vlamis; and Holy Cross High School student Jacquelyn Fay Brouillette received scholarships. The scholarships are awarded in memory of Camille B. “Candy” Perugini, who grew up in Prospect. Camille Perugini graduated from Boston College 1992 with a degree in elementary education.
