Beacon Falls police Officer Caroline O’Bar was honored by the Valley Women’s Health Initiative Oct. 1 at the 15th Annual Women Making a Difference in the Valley Tribute Luncheon and Breast Cancer Fundraiser. The tribute recognizes women who have made positive contributions to the community and have demonstrated significant achievement in their fields of endeavor, both professional and volunteer. O’Bar’s community work includes volunteering as a D.A.R.E program officer and coordinating annual toy and back to school drives. The Horizon Hunger Team participated in a 5K walk on Oct. 11 to benefit the Ecumenical Food Bank in Naugatuck. The team members were Lillian and Emily Bogart, Janay and Jazlyn Ramos and led by Carrie Garrett-Lea, all of Naugatuck.
