Academica FC player Alexa Casimiro, of Prospect, was recently selected for the US Youth Soccer Region 1 U17 pool team after completing identification camp at the University of Rhode Island in July. Casimiro, a student at Woodland Regional High School, was also named to the 18-player roster selected to attend the US Youth Soccer ODP Boca Raton Interregional Event in November 2015. She was also selected as a ‘Best 9’ player in her age group and will be on the roster for a combined USA Region 1 U16 and U17 international event in Croatia next spring.
