Back row, Emily LaBracque was promoted to apprentice blue, Nico Albanese was promoted to blue belt, Sabrina Dasilva was promoted to apprentice purple, David Marimekala and Leah Quijano were promoted to apprentice green. -CONTRIBUTED John Daunis, Nick Coelho, Dan Leclerc and Mike Lonchar, all Boy Scouts from Prospect’s Troop 258, recently traveled to West Virginia for the Summit Shakedown at the Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve. The Summit will be the permanent home to Scouting’s National Jamborees beginning in 2013. The four scouts were among 2,000 Boy Scouts, Venturers and unit leaders who experienced some of the program elements that will be offered to approximately 40,000 attendees at next year’s Jamboree. Each day the boys participated in many activities, such as ziplining, BMX and mountain biking, skateboarding, and rock wall climbing, and later had the chance to give feedback.
