Woodland Regional High School hosted a veteran’s forum May 22 at the school in Beacon Falls. Veterans from Beacon Falls and Prospect spent the morning in the media center at Woodland talking with students about what life is like in the service and in a war. Michaela Pernell, a Naugatuck resident and senior at Nonnewaug High School, recently signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Merrimack College in Massachusetts on a track scholarship. Pernell has set school, league and state records at Nonnewaug. She has also received All-State and All-New England honors. She signed the letter with her family by her side.
