Mastraccio received a warm welcome from the Mirabelles and Chatfield, who presented him with a key to the town. –CONTRIBUTED Woodland Regional High School’s Hawks Productions took top honors at the Connecticut Student Film Festival April 25 at the Palace Theater. The group won Audience Choice and Outstanding Fictional Short for their short film ‘Unconditional.’ The film was made as part of the 84-hour film challenge.The film is now moving on to the All American Film Festival, the world’s largest high school film festival, in New York City. The film was chosen from over a thousand entries to be shown with 60 others at the AMC Theater in Times Square on Oct. 25 at 3 p.m. This film was a collaboration of students, led by Drew Chura director, Meg Terry executive producer, Ewelina Lemanski and Aidan Music were co-producers. Kristen Cullen, Rosemary Donnelly, Anrew Wisneski, Mike Marti, Alexa Charette, Jack Walsh and Matt Terry all worked on filming and editing. Hawks Productions will be holding upcoming fundraisers to support this project. The team finished third in league play and earned several top finishes at tournaments including first place at the Spring Tip Off in Hartford, first place at the Under Armour Best of Spring Classic in Trumbull, second place at the King of the Court Classic in Hartford, first place at the Showdown at Courtside Sportside Center in Harwinton and third place at the Zero Gravity tournament in New London.
