Sgt. Christopher Wilson (second from left) received his associates degree in criminal justice from the Community College of the Air Force June 13. On June 26 he was notified he is being promoted to the rank of technical sergeant. Wilson, a Beacon Falls native, graduated from Emmett O’Brien High School in Ansonia in 2001. He enlisted in the Air Force Oct. 16, 2006 and is currently stationed at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in New Jersey. He is the son of Jay and Joanne Wilson of Beacon Falls. –CONTRIBUTED

Connecticut Irish dancers from the Horgan Academy of Irish Dance in Naugatuck portray a scene from the final moments on the Titanic at the 2014 North American Irish Dance Championships in Montreal, Canada July 4. They won second place. The performance also won first at the New England regional competition and eighth at the world championship recently. This original dance drama had a cast of 20 Irish dancers, including dancers from Naugatuck and Prospect.
