Mayor Pete’s Downtown Festival was held Sept. 24 in downtown Naugatuck. The festival started with a hike on a 22-kilometer trail through the Naugatuck State Forest, across borough-owned parks and back downtown where the festival was in full swing, including a car show, live music, food and a family activities. The purpose of the day was to promote Mission 22, a nonprofit organization that seeks to raise awareness of veteran suicide. According to the organization, 22 veterans commit suicide every day. –PHOTOS BY LUYKE MARSHALL
