Crowds flocked to the Naugatuck Chamber of Commerce’s 11th annual Duck Day and Race June 5 in downtown Naugatuck. Although heavy rains plagued the festival, hundreds of festival goers came out to enjoy the rides, music, food and the annual duck race. At 2 p.m., thousands of rubber ducks were dumped off the Whittemore Bridge for the annual duck rack, with prizes going to the ticket holders of the first 26 ducks to cross the finish line. Jean Carr won the grand prize of $5,000 cash. For a full list of winners, visit www.cometoduckday.com. On June 6, volunteers and chamber members washed the rubber ducks at the South End Express II car wash. –PHOTOS BY LUKE MARSHALL
