Dad's Nite at the Firehouse was held Dec. 4 at the Naugatuck fire headquarters on Maple Street. The event is for children from the Naugatuck Head Start program and the significant male in their lives. The children were given a goodie bag, fire hat and a disposable camera. The evening started with the children being read a story, a firefighter in full gear met with the children, then Sparky the Fire Dog led the children to the apparatus floor, where they were allowed to climb in the fire trucks. The event is sponsored by Firefighters Union Local 1219 with the proceeds from its Easter flower sale. –CONTRIBUTED
