Girl Scout Troop 64570 of Naugatuck made a trip to Battleship Cove in Fall River, Mass., April 8 to April 9 to explore the world’s largest collection of historic naval ships.

Along with touring the battleship Massachusetts, destroyer Joseph P. Kennedy Jr., submarine Lionfish, PT Boats 617 and 796 and the

Russian missile corvette Hiddensee, the Girl Scouts, their siblings and parents spent the night on board the famous U.S.S. Massachusetts.

The girls also worked on some of the requirements to earn the “United We Stand” badge. The trip has enabled the scouts to better understand and appreciate the sacrifices made by veterans of all military branches in all wars.
